Reflections on 2019 | a 7 Image Story Two Thousand Nineteen was again a year like all years, filled with those events which alter and illuminate our time. (Thank you, Walter.) For me, 2019 was again, a year filled with very little travel. Hopefully, next year will give me more opportunities to capture some stunning images while traveling to my favorite national parks.
Ice Shapes Although winter walkabouts on snow covered lakes generally turn up few critters, natural beauty still abounds in a winter wonderland. Cardinal Cardinals cheer us up during the cold winter months with their brilliant colors. Cardinals don’t migrate and they don’t molt into a dull plumage, so they stay breathtakingly beautiful against winter’s snow. Robins Feeding Nothings says “spring” like nesting Robins. Both male and female robins feed their chicks worms, insects, and berries. They tend to feed more earthworms in the morning and more fruit in the afternoon. For more information on nesting Robins, check out Nesting Robins | a 7 Image Story. Drumstick Allium Drumstick Allium is a type of ornamental onion with egg-shaped blooms. It blooms in early summer with oval shaped burgundy colored blooms on wiry stems. Lake Storm On a walkabout around the lake, this lone dock chair stood out against the lone thunderstorm south of the lake. Curious Pug Look back to better understand what lies ahead. History informs us; experience teaches us. Curiosity helps us look ahead to a better future. Autumn Beautiful autumn color, although short, reminds us that beautiful winter snow and ski season are just around the corner.
Each image will be posted individually this week with a bit more narrative under category Reflections on 2019.
