Cygnet Swan
The beautiful blue Michigan water makes a nice background to this Cygnet Swan. With its mother just a few yards away, it did not seem to have a care in the world.

This young Bighorn Sheep came up behind me while I was trying to capture a few images of a large ram just over the next hill in the Badlands NP. It scared the tar out of me and blocked my way off the rocks. After waiting quite along while, it finally retreated and I was able to capture this image while it was maneuvering down the hill.

Coyote Hunting This Coyote was hunting voles in the Hayden Valley of Yellowstone NP. He just pranced into the field near my position as I was having a quick lunch. He hunted successfully for about an hour, then just pranced away. He did not seem to mind my presence, although he could easily see and smell my lunch.

Gray Squirrel Gray Squirrels seem like they are every color but well, gray. This guy was just having a good time in the early morning light. To capture the image without disturbing the gray squirrel’s routine, I used a long lens and stayed very low. It took a long time before he came into the good light.

This Immature Red-tailed Hawk did not seem to mind as the cars passed by just a few feet from where it was consuming its prey, a snake. The image was captured handheld on my knees down the road a bit.
