Today’s Image | Bald Eagle This Bald Eagle was perched in a tree overlooking Pleasant Lake. It had been on that same branch for several hours with occasional excursions soaring over the lake while fishing. By using a kayak I was able to get fairly close without disturbing the bird. The eagle’s perch was probably 20 to 30 feet high. It did not seem to care about me approaching on the water. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
Today’s Image | Female Mallard It’s easy to sometimes bypass common species when hunting for a nice image. This Female Mallard seemed to be resting on a fallen branch near the shore line. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
Potpourri Galore | Pug Mug It’s easy to love a Pug with a mug like Jasper’s. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
Recent Photos | P-40 Warhawk Clear Prop The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, an American single-engined, single-seat fighter, first flew in 1938. Between 1938 and 1944, 13,738 Warhawks were produced. It was used extensively during World War II and became famous as the main aircraft for the Flying Tigers. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
Recent Photos | Sandhills are Back! A nesting pair of Sandhill Cranes makes their nest at the edge of a slough not far from my house. The underbrush is so thick you can not get back to their nest; a good thing. They fly out from time to time in their constant quest for food. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
Recent Photos | Pelicans are Back! The Pelicans fly into our local slough once a year; usually in mid to late March. They seem to stay for a couple of weeks before leaving to fly north. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
Today’s Image | Backyard White-tailed Deer White-tailed Deer are a common site around here. The number we see each year seems to vary. This year the number has increased a bit. Of course, it’s too early for fawns to show up. Note: I post an image most days at hankconrad.com.
