Oshkosh 2022 | Curtiss P-40 Warhawk The shark mouth of Flying Tigers nose art that adorned the fuselages of the famed American Volunteer Group (AVG) is one of the best known examples of nose art in WWII. The Curtiss P-40 served in almost every theater of the Second World War. Both praised and cursed, it bore much of the brunt of the air warfare. With no supercharger, it was designed as a medium-altitude fighter. Still, it was available in large quantities and was both sturdy and docile. So, it withstood the punishment battle well.
