Spring Potpourri | Clear Spring Water Melted cold lake ice makes clear cold water. The remains of an old trestle still breaks the surface near the shore.

Spring Potpourri | Last Lake Ice The lake ice is receding from the shoreline and has become very thin. The ice usually comes off the lake in a day or two. If the temperature is warm with a strong wind, the ice can disappear within a couple of hours from one side of the lake to the other side, like a big arm just peeling it back.

Spring Potpourri | Melting Ice One of the first signs of spring tends to be melting ice along the shoreline as well as around stationary objects in the water. Soon the lake will be ice free; ready for water fowl and fishermen.
