Welcome to my blog and web site. This blog publishes daily, most of the time, and relates to recent photog activities including my image of the day, nature images, and aviation events. Occasionally, a business post from my consulting business may pop up.
The blog helps me drive myself to capture new images every day. A continuing challenge for many photogs, who are not full-time professional photographers, remains the need to shoot more often and shoot a wider range of subjects. Hopefully, this blog will continue to drive me outside my comfort zone and into new adventures.
Daily Image posts feature the best images from my image-of-the-day initiative. On some days, these images will be no better than a snap to remember the day. On others, hopefully, I’ll capture an image fit for a portfolio gallery. The daily posts will be mostly from recent photos, but not necessarily from the day of the post. At first, I thought I would shoot and post on the same day, but after a month, it became clear to me to be almost logistically impossible. Occasionally, the Daily Image may be from older photos when a recent image is not appropriate.
A 7 Image Story is posted weekly on Sunday. It contains a short story built around 7 images. Then each day, Sunday through Saturday, one of the 7 images is posted individually and the 7 image story post updated. Hopefully, I will improve both my pose in storytelling as well as my images. The images will be taken from my image database based upon the subject of the story.
Nature images include wildlife and landscapes photos from photo trips, vacation travel, and local walkabouts. Aviation images stem from aviation events, fly-ins, and personal flying. Over time, I’ll blog some of my better images into portfolios.
The 22nd BG images and posts come from the history of the 22nd Bomb Group and my father, Delbert J. Conrad, a crew chief in the 33rd Squadron of the 22nd BG. This initiative stems from the fact that we lost most of my fathers war photos and memorabilia in a fire. We will attempt to rebuild his story with restored images from the 22nd BG supplemented with recent images of the planes, B-26, B-25, and B-24, they flew.
Thank you for stopping by my site. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
